Our Reunion will overlap USSVI Convention - http://ussvi.org/
USSVI Convention August 29 to Sept. 4, 2005

The basic schedule is:

- Friday, check in and meet in the hospitality room.

- Saturday, business meeting at 1000 / slides then back to the hospitality room.

- Sunday, business meeting at 1100, ladies lunch at 1200, Arabia tour at 1400, hospitality room

- Monday. business meeting at 1000 / slides, hospitality room. 1800 meet at Hereford house, diner at 1900 until  2300.

What's new!

1. There has been some confusion with the hotel reservation desk about rates and dates. Willy and I have talked with them and hope it's fixed. The days are Friday through Monday night. Any one having issue contact Willy or my self.

2. There is a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. . It's called the K.C.I. and runs every 30 minutes. The cost is $15.00 or $25.00 round trip. Purchase your tick onboard the bus.

3. We are still soliciting a few donated memorabilia items for a raffle / auction. Bruce Taft is organizing that activity but he is moving from California to Florida this month so email me with what you have.

5. HOT ITEM. All checks for the diner need to be received by Dave Hinkle no later than 1 August!!!!!

6. The Arabia tour. In order to put this five hour bus tour together we need a minimum of 30 people. The cost is $49.00 per person and will include the 1 1/2 hour tour of the Arabia museum, a late buffet lunch and a bus tour around K/C. It would leave the hotel at 2pm Sunday returning at 6:30. All those interested please contact Frank Lydell. I will need to collect payment early to put it  together.

Lady's lunch

The ladies's luncheon  is set for Sunday afternoon the 28th at the Milano Restaurant, a short walk from the Hotel.

Possible discussions for the reunion:

- Where the heck are we going to hold the next one. A lot of East Coast crew are grumbling, so if you have any ideas let us know.

- We'll be asking for volunteers for the 2007 reunion, so if you're anxious to volunteer, start thinking about it.

- Spinax, Inc. (should we incorporate)?

- Dues (Should we have yearly dues for the Spinax fund)?

Also, if someone would like to speak at the Banquet, please let us know.

Here is a breakdown of some of the costs for the Reunion:

- Hotel room: $99.00 per night
- Banquet:
(Monday 29th at 7pm) $70 per person which includes banquet dinner (the actual cost for the meal is $55.00 with tip and tax. It will be a buffet consisting of four entrees, all you cat eat, plus the usual vegetables, desert and coffee, etc. This also covers the cost of the room, sound system and bar tender. Any money remaining goes in the fund after the reunion)
- Ladies luncheon:
$20-25.00 (not finalized)
- Hospitality Room is a BYOB operation - but will have a tip jar - maybe
$25.00
- Still working on tours and stuff! (Ideas welcome)!

Make Banquet Checks payable to "Spinax Reunion Fund" (no later than July 20) & send to:
Dave Hinkle
429 Cardinal Drive
Satellite Beach, FL 32937
Please include name(s) of each attendee for nametags.
Last minute banquet reservations will be "CASH ONLY."

We're planning on having a raffle and/or silent auction at the KC reunion. So ANYBODY that has a Spinax memento or submarine items that they would care to donate we would like to have them! All proceeds, of course, go to the Spinax Slush Fund.
If you do have something to contribute, please contact  Bruce Taft with a description of the item.

We're working on putting together a couple of tours for KC.

One idea is to visit the Arabia Steamboat Museum. Check it out at : http://www.1856.com/

Another idea is to tour the Harley Davidson plant. http://www.harley-davidson.com/CO/FTY/en/kansascity.asp?locale=en_US&bmLocale=en_US

Here is a website for things to do in KC
http://www.tjcsubbase.org/convention/kc_info.htm

If you have something to suggest for a tour, let Frank  know and we'll discuss it. Or if you just want to branch out on your own, there are a lot of things to see.
