Life Afer Spinax: Doug Bryant

I entered the Navy in 1943 and was a plankowner on the USS Seadog (SS-401). I made 4 war patrols and was on the 5th when the war ended.

After the war I was a plankowner on the Spinax and stayed until July 26, 1947 when I was transferred to deep sea diving school at the gun factory in Washington, DC.

After 3 years on a torpedo and mine testing range as a diver, I served on ships and stations as listed:

USS Sea Owl (SS-405)

Submarine Escape Training Tank (Sub School, Groton, CT)

USS Entemedor (SS-340)

USS Crevalle (SS-291)

USS Sea Dog (SS-401) as and instructor for Naval Reserves 1964-1967
As you can see, my first ship in the Navy was the Sea Dog as was my last ship in the Navy.

I retired in 1967 as a Senior Chief Engineman with 24 years of service.
