Life Afer Spinax: Mike Luikart I sailed on the Spinax from 1968 until October, 1969 when she was disassembled in the Oakland bone yard. I left the Spinax and was transferred to the USS Wahoo SS 565 just long enough to get qualified on her. Then transferred to the USS Swordfish SSN 579 headed for a trip to Siberia as a IC3 Mark 16 Gyro Tech. Made one tour on her made IC2 and got out of the Navy in early 71 on a pre existing elbow problem the Navy did not want to mess with. I was married in 69 before reporting to the Wahoo. Left the Navy and stayed in San Diego and began to work in the Security Alarm field. I installed alarm systems throughout Southern California for the next 12 years. Went to work for the County of San Diego as the Security Coordinator for the County in 1983 and I'm still doing that job for the County of San Diego. I spend my spare time web surfing, drawing pictures with colored Pencils and custom engraving into almost any surface. My wife "G.J." Wade and I also spend a lot of time with our two parrots and two Schipperkea dogs.
